I don't think its that
If you're a pizza chain, and you suddenly start making Thai food, of course I'm gonna be like, "Huh?"
You know he always played instruments right?
and this is why i say you niggas conflate art with products
Yeah I've said plenty of times that if you pout it out for public consumption for profit, its product
He was cooking
Tyler's pants are weirdly short
I don't think its that
If you're a pizza chain, and you suddenly start making Thai food, of course I'm gonna be like, "Huh?"
Very idiotic statement
You know he always played instruments right?
Yeeeaaaauuuuh, but is that what we know and love him for?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this doesn't have the potential to be good. It's just disappointing that we aren't getting a rap album.
I've never been one to just take whatever the artist gives you and be happy about it.
They've set a standard of what to expect
I feel like if you're mad at this then you see music as more of a product to be consumed than just art for art's sake
I’m not mad he wants to make the music he wants to make but this album is really going to based on if he’s a good flute player.
And if he’s not
I’m not mad he wants to make the music he wants to make but this album is really going to based on if he’s a good flute player.

He's been practicing a lot

My perspective is a bit different. Food is art, art is just the expression of people, which food certainly is. How you fold your laundry is art and you know this is true when you visit your parents house and see how your mom’s laundry is all neat and the clothes in someone’s first apartment is tossed around. Everything is an expression of yourself. The fact we live in a society that artists have to be businesses to survive is a cold hard fact, but that doesn’t mean the artist has to trade their authenticity for profits. The issue with the pizza thing, is that your boxing in a “pizza maker” as simply that, instead of being a chef. If you love a chef, you’ll try whatever they make for you without judgement. Just my 2 cents. Art is best made for the artist only.

Eedyat ting to say

this is so disrespectful man
art is supposed to be honest and raw and unfiltered, a reflection of where the artist is at
Yeeeaaaauuuuh, but is that what we know and love him for?

It's always white folks that be wanting these black artists to jiggaboo dance for their validation man lmao.
right bro?? like for some reason being 1/2 of the greatest rap group ever isn’t enough
i also think this opens up another conversation about hip hop’s disregard for groups over the past decade(?) or so
but thats another convo for another day
Such a weird artist to be mad at for doing something out of the blue honestly
Right??? Like if there’s one artist that we can count on to give us music that isn’t our norm, it’s Andre 3000
Like he’s been carrying that flute around for the better part of the decade

I can get behind this (pause)
