23 episodes.. you tell me
Never watched much anime but I just started Dragon Ball on Hulu a few night ago. Gonna try to watch all the way up to Super. When I get to DBZ should I watch the og show or Kai?
og
golden time
Tbh part 2 is so much better than 1 and 3
yea this is generally how i feel
tbh i didn't even hate part 1 that much, it's not as good as part 1 or 4 but it's short enough that i didn't hate it that much i think
part 4 is definitely my favorite part
i don't really like the premise for part 5 so not sure if i'm gonna watch it yet
"3/4 of this show is complete ass but u should watch it youll love it"
None of the show is ass
The first part is just okay. Everything else is funny and action packed to hell

Kai tbh. I've enjoyed it growing up

thats why i filter out most anime recommendations. gotta watch for redflags when they describing it
which anime actually lives up to the hype? im getting too many conflicting opinions
Hunter x Hunter
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Bleach
My Hero Academia
One-Punch Man
Saw HxH recently and I really loved it. At first some of the elements may seem goofy, but eventually the series turns out to be quite dark - some moments in the Chimera Ant arc were legitimately horrifying.
FMAB is peak. Easily one of the best oat.
OPM is cool. More comedic than anything. I suggest Mob Psycho 100 instead (same creator, but I thought it was miles better in every aspect)
Haven't seen Bleach/MHA.

nah theyre are plenty of good shows out there that just didnt get the same virality or prestige for whatever reason mainly because of the sheer number of shows that come out

is it a budget thing that FMAB had that other animes dont? i dont need to watch just super popular shows, if others are just as good ill check it out

yeah if the material being adapted has a lot a hype, there's a higher chance that the studio will try and tie down some of the more sought after animators. Marketing also gets an additional boost from the free word-of-mouth that manga readers gin up
proper production management also plays a factor as a poorly run production can squander any impressive talent recruited.
thats not to say that original anime is getting scraps but they don't have the existing fanbase to tout it online or amongst friend groups so they might not reach the highs in popularity that the others can

i see, makes sense a popular anime has a higher chance of being better cuz of a bigger budget.
so what would be like an indie classic that never got the proper shine and budget
in TV world, The Shield comes to mind
