i know i’m always in here talking about Gintama lately, but holy s*** the Yoshiwara in Flames arc is one of my fav arcs ever. how can a series that’s normally a hilarious parody of Shonen tropes take the tongue completely out of cheek and make an arc this mf great??? f***ing GOAT s***

yeah s1 was one of my fav seasonals in a while. prob top 5 of the last 2 years

the anime only covers such a smallllll part of the story that it pretty much serves as an intro lol but with that being said, the anime is what got me into it and made me read the manga.
highly recommend, also MAPPA did a real good job on it. keeps it gritty and captures Hayashida’s unique art style pretty well , late night vibes
