i wonder what old anime thread vibes was like.
anyway to answer this, i had actually forgotten about so many people until tranquility posted that list
i wasn't exaggerating in that post those people really ran ktt. i actually knew most of those posters outside of the anime thread and they stood out because they were so damn hilarious. like sas (Sassarus or whatever) was absolutely insane, or maybe very lonely. but she delivered.
a lot of them were master trolls so eventually they got banned and all went to a discord which may be why most of them don't post here anymore (if they really don't).
i used to be very annoying and pretentious about anime and thought watching unpopular s*** made me cool, but lowkey so was everyone else so ultimately it was really edge wars in the thread whenever i popped in. it was kinda annoying and i didnt really feel like much discussion really happened, so it was like sub d*** measuring contests, BUT i was an outsider and a very rare passerby, so i can't say that's how it always was.
overall though, i found it crazy that literally the funniest, best posters across ktt also all posted in the anime thread.
You know I'm usually a sucker for these romcoms openings but I really do not vibe with Fuufus.
Donβt worry insomniacs coming soon
sorry brother, were you always tranquility?
I'm Serenity on that list but all I barely posted in the thread back when they were still active, mostly just lurked. I didn't become super active in the thread until most of em were gone.

its okay we still have a few edgy users to bring back the old vibes.
mostly chill time though.
Finished The Climber. Highly, highly recommend if you are at all into seinen type stories. Mori is such an amazing character for how little he talks. I usually don't really connect with characters on a personal level but I really did with Mori. Sometimes it was little hard to tell what was going on cause I don't know anything about climbing and some of the more intense scenes are in dark, snowy areas but it would usually end up making sense in the end. Some of the surrealist elements lost me but for the most part I could understand what they represented. Also, there was certain story telling element that i wasn't a big fan of. It wasn't bad but it felt a little confusing at some points. Other than that I loved everything. solid cast of characters, unbelievable art and an amazing story about loneliness and personal growth.
If you decide to read it then I'd say give it around ~40 chapters cause the artist takes over the writing after chapter 20 and the entire direction changes but it takes a little bit to get going.
Yamada teaming up with Yoshida and Ushio again. Another Liz and the Blue Bird level banger incoming hopefully.
Chainsaw Man's non-action storyboards are actually pretty interesting to look at, so I don't know why its action storyboards are so f***ing terrible.
