I like DeathNote but I also feel like it’s dumb as s***? The ‘love interest’ they introduce has to be some of the most empty writing I’ve seen introduced to an otherwise acclaimed show

Maybe I’ll start this after finishing Death Note / Code Geass

It’s sorta funny how I started both of these shows expecting some variety a they revolve around the same ‘powers/dilemmas’ for each protag

Prefer Code Geass but is also has plenty of dumb-as-shit moments

I watched this like 6-7 years ago but I remember female characters there being written as dumb or annoying as hell

One of the greatest and intriguing starts of any series imo, but soon it turns way too contrived, suspension of believe starts to get tested and what is supposed to come across as clever or smart makes you think "this is f***ing stupid", so no you are not alone, pretty common criticism on it.
I actually reread it a few weeks ago, I think it's still great for its time and ofcourse influential but its got A LOT of bad writing lmao

Is it worth finishing? I feel like I’ve heard so much about the show getting worse after the first 10 episodes or so and now I’m wondering if the rest of the show is good at all. I wouldn’t mind keeping up if there are still great moments peppered throughout
