Is this Hathaway gundam movie standalone can I just watch it straight up
no unfortunately, its connected to two shows and a movie (mobile suit gundam, zeta gundam, and char's counterattack)
would recommend thunderbolt tho you dont need any context for that
hathaway's flash still one of the most visually stunning anime movies ive seen in recent times

Holy f*** man. Is animation just too much as a medium? I don't know where the logistic problems come from tbh. I know it's hard to meet the demand of consumers and the profits needed for the companies.
Starting to read the Chainsaw Man manga
Haven't read manga in like 2 years and this is bringing me back
If I finish this I might have to catch up on One Piece too

Every single article about the anime industry makes it sound like a nightmare. The labour force isn't increasing to keep up with the increasing amount of anime being produced. Like this isn't just an in-betweener problem either, some studios are just consistently s*** at maintaining a decent production schedule and it results in them brute forcing production by throwing body after body at the problem until there's enough combined effort to get everything done in time. Like, compare the amount of animation directors that need to show up on a Mappa anime vs a KyoAni anime, s***s not even close.
