My Hero Academia Episode 1 would have Miso making acquaintance with a young Hakuyu Go doing a fantastic scene of Midoriya trying to save Bakugo sakugabooru.com/post/show/201365\. Later on Episode 11, Hakuyu Go would co direct the episode and help pen an amazing action sequence between All Might and Nomu.
Though it is unclear what scene Miso did he is here.
The same year he’d come on to Mob Psycho 100, working on Episode 3 with Toshiyuki Sato, Kazuto Arai, among others.
Miso 2:03 to end
He’d appear again on Episode 11 working alongside Gosei Oda, Hironori Tanaka, and others.
Miso 0:48-0:56, epic animation for a character that only lasts 2 minutes
From 2016 to 17, Miso covered a number of shows. On Long Riders! he did a ton of animation though much is very simple, he even directed Episode 2. Yes, at 22 years old Miso is already directing anime episodes. He covered a variety of series such as: Little Witch Academia, Atom: The Beggining’s OP, Eromanga Sensei, Attack on Titan, though arguably the most impactful scenes he’d work on would be on Fate/Apocrypha.
On Episode 22 of Apocrypha Miso penned a ton of battle animation all under the supervision of Hakuyu Go. Go’s recruitment process, and connections in the industry all allow him to get beauteous sakuga out of his episodes, and in this case Miso helped build the foundation of the action here, and was crucial in the fight scenes. The earlier scenes with Lancer of Black and Archer of Black assert how well Go pays particular attention to the placement of his animators
Go handles several running cuts, and animates alongside Masami Mori during one part. Nakaya Onsen handles other bits.
Go’s storyboard and Miso’s genga
The early sequence would not be the only time Miso showed up as the Sieg vs Karna fight solidifies Go as one of the best anime action curators. We get appearances from duo Takumi Sunakohara and Kazuto Arai, legendary Kanada animator Shinsaku Kozuma, and at the time relative newcomers like Naoki Miyajima and Toshi Sada. Go would even animate himself
Miso, Go, and Sada share cuts from 0:24-45, Miso could be on other unconfirmed cuts
2018 saw Miso again working on many shows though nothing too noteworthy. His cuts on FLCL Progressive and Hug! Pretty Cure have some decent movement though. Progressive saw him reuniting with Sunakohara, and Precure he did an impressive action sequence sakugabooru.com/post/show/69532\. Also his credit on the Blade Smash video game under Yamashita direction is awesome.
Its early winter 2019, and Miso is about to put out some of his best animation on Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 starting off strong on Episode 1, doing a wholesome and cute scene.
Miso with the 3d shot at 1:55
He also animated a portion of the OP
On Episode 4, a possessed Mob is under the influence of Dimple to protect his body. Miso does a quick fight scene between Dimple and Mogami, showcasing bouncy and awkward fight choreography. You get the impression both possessed beings are are acting unnaturally with their vessels bewitched.
Miso 1:36-2:00
Episode 5, Hakuyu Go returns helping pen one of the best animated episodes of tv anime that year. Mob and Mogami have a mental battle, and it’s an event.
Tsuchigami with the opening ghost volley from Mogami, and Mob dissipating the attack from 1:48-2:08.
A fleet of other animators take over afterwards with Go, Keiichiro Watanabe, Sunakohara, Weilin Zhang, and Hironori Tanaka. Zhang having the most impressive scene animating almost entirely on 1s.
The true highlight for Miso would be Episode 11, and though it contains none of his KA he directed and storyboarded all of it. With AD under the show’s chief animation supervisor Yoshimichi Kameda it is a glorious pairing and resulted in the monumental Shimazaki fight.
I’ve already broken this scene down at length in my Kameda spotlight, but its still so impressive. The resulting animation from the four animators credited is just unreal, with Nakaya Onsen and Kenichi Fujisawa both being the stars of the show.
2020, saw very little animation from Miso though he would appear prominently on Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia Episode 18 drawing some amazing action.

This time Miso is working under Onsen’s boards and direction.
Early winter 2021 we see Miso penning yet another scene between him and Onsen working on Tropical Rogue Pretty Cure, with a kaiju and magical girl fight.
Miso 0:49-1:05, Onsen is right after, practically zero in-betweening and mostly keyframes in his parts still looks good
Around the same time we’re revealed as to why Miso was so absent during most of 2020, as he had animated a good portion of Fate/Grand Order Camelot Paladin; Agateram. He did a decent bit of action sakuga along with at the time 18 year old webgenner Vercreek and German animator Yen Bm sakugabooru.com/post/show/175088\. I love the complex background shots. Yet ultimately it is the 3 minute solo KA fight between Bedivere and Gawain that really deserves all of the glory sakugabooru.com/post/show/175090\. A full scene storyboarded and directed and animated all by Miso, and he puts his all in to perfectly executing the seismic blows between characters. There is so much anticipation in every swing, and the added drama factor only ups the ante of the perfection that is this sequence. I’d post the full clip if I could but its split up into chunks on Youtube. He handled around 100 cuts of Gawain alone.
Miso’s production materials for the scene
Miso would return in the summer of the year animating on the 4 year anniversary for the Fate Grand/Order video game directed by Shingo Yamashita.
Miso 0:37 to 43
On One Piece Episode 990 Miso would animate the epic introduction of Yamato saving Luffy from the giant Ulti.
whole scene is Miso
On the awesome Ranking of Kings, one of the four bastions Dorshe fights off possessed dog demons from Hilling.
All Miso
It’s 2022, and Miso would animate alongside Arifumi Imai, Tanaka, and others penning a colossus monster fight on Princess Connect! Re:Dive
Miso at 1:00 to 1:13
The same year Mob Psycho 100 would unfortunately reach its last season and though Miso didn’t animate or supervise a majority of the episodes like the last season he did join Hakuyu Go’s Episode 7 doing some insane animation on the alien world segment.
Miso from 0:18 to 0:50
But as one series ends, another begins on Heavenly Delusion where Miso served as AD, storyboard artist, and KA on Episode 2 of the show. He covers the man-eater portion of the episode
Miso with the running cut, and Hironori Tanaka handling the monster’s death.
So yeah Miso, is awesome. One of the most solid webgenners/freelancers that like many of them appeared out of nowhere in the early to mid 10s. While he isn't heavily praised animator his works have a lot more patience then the average webgen animator. Many are focused on the scene at large, and getting across as much as possible and quickly. Miso lets you take everything in, and is one of the few that can convey epic spectacle in such a shrewd and methodical way. I hope he gets to direct more episode in the future, and maybe a series one day.
On One Piece Episode 990 Miso would animate the epic introduction of Yamato saving Luffy from the giant Ulti.
