Ishii storyboarding today's Heavenly Delusion? I will be disappointed if he doesn't bust out his signature match cuts.
The Dangers in My Heart
What a heartwarming show it was. Had me sitting here smiling through the eps from start to finish. Amazing organic character growth, loveable characters, great direction .. easily in my top 3 favorite romance shows.
Second season already announced and rightfully topping polls for this season
I saw Ghosts in the Shell for the first time a few months ago, but didn't truly appreciate how masterful the execution of vision and cinematography were until now. The way certain scenes were "shot" and directed were simply stellar.
Any other films out there on the same caliber? I'm asking as a studying artist for educational purposes.

maybe watch Hiroyuki Okiura's films Jin-Roh (which Oshii wrote) and A Letter to Momo if you want that realism. Spriggan, Cowboy Bebop The Movie (if you want those cool cityscapes and photoreal feel). Magnetic Rose portion of Memories.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is one of the most visually amazing works of animation ever put to screen.
More out there out of the ordinary stuff is Angel's Egg, Robot Carnival, Tale of the Princess Kaguya, Children of The Sea, every Masaaki Yuasa film, Genius Party Beyond, the animated excerpt from Rampo (1994), Junkers Come Here pilot, Episode 10 of The Hakkenden, Redline if you're into that stuff too.

Awesome reccs. Thank you. I’ve had redline for a while, I gotta actually give it a watch now.
