to give my calm and rational opinions for darling in the franxx though I think the way it builds the world initially is actually pretty good (though all of the main cast are unlikeable), hiro gets space cancer for ??? reasons and it goes away when he hangs out with 02 for ??? reasons because dino alien XD||, then obviously ||how they build up the DITF universe/conflict only to shatter it for some stupid TTGL space engagement that does not fit in with the show at all. the crazy part is that was AFTER trigger stopped working on it, so I can't even say that was trigger's influence that made it happen

This meme has gone too far. Nishigori and Hayashi were the series composers for DarliFra, and neither of them are Trigger employees.
