Bruh so I'm watching HxH and in the subtitles they keep referring to mf Pitou as a "he"
Afaik in the manga pitou is a he, in the anime is a she, i guess since the manga is the canon in theory that would be correct but the manga translations could be wrong. It wouldnt be the first time a feminine looking character in a togashi manga is a man
I’m not ready for ep 18. I’m gonna drop this show and just watch a HS rom com

real
I’m juggling Ping Pong, Baccano, and A Place Further than the Universe rn. The last one has grown on me the most but Baccano is probably the clear favorite

Nah I looked into it and in the manga Pitou is actually called by "aitsu" which is a neutral pronoun used to call someone in japan (and this was a deliberate choice).
Confusion arose because in the HxH databook Pitou is referred to as a male - however, this databook was not written by the manga author (it also gets other data wrong).
And in other instances, translators f***ed up

who did the subs
you basically have two answers:
its a fansub and the subber isn't as good at Japanese as they thought they were
its crunchyroll and they subbed it in a 12 hour time crunch
koyomimonogatari kinda chill
now I know why I didnt consider it canon since it's just 14 mins each ep with short stories but it's cozy
I missed oshino and nadeko

I remember enjoying it and a part of the story f***ing me up but other than that monogatari has seen better days

Some of the stories actually give cool background information about prior arcs
Last two eps are really important as well as they set up the first arc in Owari pt 2
Top 5 with Kizu
Monogatari is so good, want to rewatch it but idk if ill have the time for such a long series rn

Same bro
gonna try to read it when I find the time
There even is a version of the episodes with audio commentary of the voice actors in character. Saw some clips on YouTube, pretty dope.

Issa fansub. So that prolly explains it.
I don't think Mono misses once the entire series tbh
The characters and aesthetic are amazing throughout it
what japan doing to solo leveling is nasty 😭
will not be watching that

How come? I know nothing about this manga
How come? I know nothing about this manga
So they're censoring the author? Wtf, wild
the fact that solo leveling fans are surprised a japanese studio wouldnt animate solo leveling without cutting out all the anti-japan stuff lets me know that solo leveling fans arent smart enough to bother associating with
The solo leveling stuff is not surprising
in every single anime across all genres the military and police are always protrayed as people ''that do their job correctly'' to say the least
you never see em beat people up for no reason or abuse power and when they do they're shown as part of an evil cult/organization/whatever seperated from the force
same goes for their govt
after all, dont forget in most asian countries(if not all) when ppl talk too much they ''disappear''.....I mean look at places like aokigahara
