Growing up on Shonen really was a blessing. Everything feels like an adventure and each job I get feels like a new arc. And I got a forever young spirit. While also carrying wisdom Iβve picked up along the way
Solo Leveling - BORING
A Sign of Affection - I like it great romance, enjoyed the setting of them being in college, the perspective of the main character being deaf. the story felt real and mature. I got invested in the relationship. Didn't make me feel anything too deep I'm still not sure about Itsuomi he's kind of a douche. But he's rizzing her up well I was writing s*** down. Good for them. Wish there was more drama next season but other than that I recommend. 8/10.
four sons kinda fire
glad i didnβt blind drop this.

finally finished kare kano today. i started this s*** in november but kept getting distracted with other things but i made an effort to finish it before the next season starts
i really liked this. i got some very strong scum's wish vibes from it but it's not anywhere nearly as sexual. the similarities were mainly on the melodramatic and introspective side of things. a lot of the main cast had episodes where they looked inwards and tried to understand why they are the way they are and i always enjoy that sort of writing. miyazawa and arima were so cute together and i enjoyed seeing how they dealt with their feelings for each other and how that changed as their relationship grew. pretty much the entire cast was funny too and i didn't ever feel like there was an annoying character either which is pretty rare imo
the animation throughout 99% of it was great too, it was so playful and dynamic. one moment miyazawa is just walking around the school totally normal and the next she's a demon chasing down another student or a giant crushing buildings beneath her, crazy. the variation of the animation made both the comedic and emotional scenes so much more impactful. oh and the music was awesome too. that lil piece on the keys during the emotional scenes always hit hard and the theme whenever miyazawa's family was part of the scene was great
the two problems i had were the way some characters were handled and the ending. not gonna spoil anything but one character has an arc that's a few episodes long and then they're basically dropped and just used as a gag character for the rest of the show. it felt really odd to put that effort into exploring them only to then reduce them to a gag character with basically no dialog. i didn't mind the final episode being basically a slideshow but the ending itself just felt like a weird place to cut the story. the anime doesn't fully cover the manga so i wasn't expecting a total story conclusion but this basically felt like it ended in the middle of an episode, not a series or season ending. it didn't ruin anything for me but it was definitely disappointing. apparently there were some kind of budgeting or production planning issues towards the end so that probably explains why it fell apart on the very last episode
8/10
I should watch this

Hell nah wtf. A sign of romance is the most paint drying romance anime of the past 5 years You could cut episode 2-11 and they would still be at the same starting place with their personality and character development
Solo Levelling did not translate well to anime to me
Webtoon pacing is alot better since its so quick to read.
Anime was very boring
Nahhhh
i would watch this show
Nahhhh

Fair enough. but it felt realer than most.
Solo Leveling is just One Punch Man with extra steps
Except it's not funny and the main character is not likable
Nahhhh
This is f***ed up
i would watch this show
Feel you on this though especially if they hoop in a rec league or semi professionally
Scratch my last reply I'm going with this. Was tempted to use Jellyfish or Shuumatsu Train as dark horses because I believe in their directors but I think Western anime fans just have too much of a bias against shows that have an all-female cast.
The show selection color commentary on the screenshot is fire lmao. Dropping girls band cry is a great look out, I ended up replacing it with yozakura; you're probably also right with jellyfish but thats one I have too high a hope for to drop from the team
Good reminder that its more so about the shows that get good traction with mal users which apart from the most popular are some of the random mid/trash that airs.
I remember one of the worst isekais I've seen was like top 5 in one of the seasons ratings and I couldn't believe it, so I guess we'll see
