I am not sure since sadly not many seinen magacine manga get good anime adaptations. What makes some shounen kinda hard to recommend is them having hundreds of episodes with bad pacing, lackluster animation and tons of filler. But stuff like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, HxH or Fullmetal Alchemist and now Frieren are probably easy recommendations.

I believe Mob is from MangaONE tho its not really a shounen and more of a comedy manga. And One Punch Man is from a straight up seinen magacine

yeah its pretty sad how few truly good seinen adaptations exist for some series, vinland saga is like the most common one ive seen people latch on to as of late and maybe monster. i always encourage people to just read the manga but you'd be surprised how many people are scared to open a picture book

ngl i kinda just group OPM with other shonens since it pretty much parodies it so i feel like its easier to sell it that way especially if they like that genre already

Sentai's first episode was really nice

I like the phony plot and absurdness of it all which Saitou specializes in a la Tiger and Bunny. One of the first times I have seen random shifts to cgi character acting, and have it not feel jarring whatsoever. I just worry about the show getting awfully predictable with later twists that might happen.

Not surprising The Jellyfish first episode is amazing

Incredible compositing, and strong direction. The way Takeshita uses the camera is unique. Every shot feels like it's motivated by things that are either in screen, or it pauses on still frames to reveal another element that wasn't accounted for such as in camera flashback cuts, that come as a surprise and strongly superimpose the MC's mindstate. The use of environment also feels so double sided, as at points its like a "Kane parrot" with the sounds of trains cutting out the audio, and at other points it visually uses the characters as a pedal point while everything around them changes subtly. At points its almost too fast paced with some cuts, but the writing surrounding it is already so promising that I don't care.

Also I love the pseudo handheld cuts that give me strong China (animator) vibes.

Seinen Manga adapatations been increasing in my opinion as the Anime demographic in Japan been getting older too. Manga was always seen in Japan as something more socially acceptable while Anime was for children and teenagers until recently. If you look at magazines like Big Comic or Morning which are aimed at 30/ 40 year olds, you will find tones and genres which will rarely get adapted in Anime like stories about the work place or politics. It's just that Anime are aimed either at teenagers or Otaku.

Not helping that Seinen adaptations usually not that great either like MF Ghost a couple seasons ago. I haven't checked out The Fable yet but it's style looks a bit flat and boring in Anime. But it's better than nothing

Just a side note but Seinen has a lot of distinctions because it's aimed at such a broad range from 20 to basically 99 year old. Every Seinen (and Josei as well) magazine has usually their own distinct style and target audience. If we just look at the Big Comic Magazines line, you have:

    • Big Comic Spirits (Aimed at college students, has a focus on rom coms and lighter stories)
    • Big Comic Superior (A bit higher than Spirits. You will find more stories about the Yakuza, crime and darker s*** in general here)
    • Big Comic Original (Around 30+ year old, more serious)
    • Big Comic (the oldest demographic, usually some stories about work, history)

And just like that most publishers have their own line. Just mentioning it because people feel like Seinen automatically means it's something dark or more serious. K-On is a Seinen too or the Insomnia romcom from a couple seasons ago.

Girl’s Band Cry first ep was good

I think it did a lot of fun setup for things that happen later, and the fish out of water MC is generic but when done right is cute imo. I wasn’t enjoying the orchestral arrangements in the ost that much, but the rock tracks worked. I can’t wait to watch more. Toei has really excelled with nice cgi character acting. I know this isn’t the same team as Dragon Ball: Super Hero and Sand Land but their prioritization in testing the waters with the medium feels fresh and hopefully we will see improvements in the future, and under suitable schedules.

Halfway through apoth diaries now and I think I'm slowly enjoying it more Still don't know how to feel about Jinshi simping over Maomao cause it tends to vary between and rizz. Her being somewhat of a Loli also doesn't help

    I like Gaoshun tho
