just finished shiki

it was a solid show but i saw a lot of people saying they did a great job making you question morality and whats right or wrong.

Personally, I really dont think they did a great job humanizing the shiki. Outside of the scene with tooru and ritsuko I never really felt bad for them at all. Ritsuko i respect cause she stuck to her morals but most of the shiki ended up not caring that they were killing people in the end. I understand they just wanted to make a town where they could live freely but killing people and turning them into vampires against their will is just 100% immoral no matter which way you look at it. The argument they make that shiki arent bad because humans kill pigs and chickens for food is a false equivalency as 1\. those animals arent intelligent beings and 2\. they dont rise back up and kill their own kind

The shiki had characters like tatsumi who made them kill humans to further their agenda. How can u look at that and question whos right and wrong?

Also technically they didnt even really have to kill humans at all to survive?? It took like 4 bites to kill, theoretically they couldve just taken 1 bite of each person and not killed anyone?

I enjoyed watching for sure and the OST was spectacular but I'm just not seeing what so many saw idk
