  • I just recently finished Dorohedoro, its pretty good. Loved the world and the mystery, and the main cast is pretty compelling. But I felt like the author shot themselves in the foot by making deaths meaningless. I also didnt like how blurred the line between protagonists and antagonists was.

All in all I'd still recommend.

  • Ok so i finished orb. Im glad the fan theories didnt turn out to be true because it would've ruined the ending for me.

I find that question mark that pops out of albert's head a brilliant way to present the entire point of the story. The sacrifice of and collaboration between different people throughout history in order to find out the truth all led to that seed of doubt sprouting in albert's mind despite all their effort being lost to history simply wonderful, and it ties perfectly to what he was pondering about in this episode. Its the different beliefs, personalities and pov of different humans that despite that find a common ground in our innate need to satisfy our curiosity and find answers to our questions that leads to progress and a better understandijg of the world. I loved how the show never went full reddit in criticizing religion, instead embracing the teachings of the scriptures, even in skepticism. As i said I love that the story we've watched until ep 23 did happen, it wasnt a story inside the story or a what if scenario. And this new rafal being almost identical to old rafal in looks and voice imo can be explained by one of the miracles or coincidences that the priest was talking about. Kind of a copout, but not an offensive one. I think he was supposed to represent the antithesis to albert and rafal's ideals of advancement through collaboration and faith in humanity. New rafal despite being in a sort of science club was very selfish due to his almost obsessive search of the truth. A brilliant mind, a open-minded man that truly wanted to advance his society, but in a way no different than nowak and the bishop, so hellbent on his theories. He also made different choices compared to old rafal, like refusing to sacrifice his life to stand for his beliefs. Had he had someone like oczy to change his perspective maybe it wouldnt have ended that way.

Dont want to sound like a broken record, but again animation wasnt good and i'll live with that. I'll just go read the manga
