Hearing a lot of this hype for this lol, looks funny af
Classic incoming
define scary
you mean scary as in disturbing imagery or creepy atmosphere
cause if it's the first then I'd say corpse party is a very disturbing anime
if we're talking about atmosphere tho then there's many more like Shiki, Another, Kara No Kyoukai
I dont think -in all honesty- animation has such a huge variety of ways to scare people....even regular films most of the time fail horribly
Def creepy atmosphere but even that tends to be kind of lack luster (made it about 10 eps into Another)
Another was really good when the girl was mysterious but after that ehhh
You are 100% correct about the toughness of delivering a “scary animation”
But I think some scenes in Fire force are legit more terrifying than anything in another
Also, I think suspense ties into horror as well. So my ideal show would be like a death note

the promised neverland s1 felt to me like fire force felt to you
I think fire force would fit the creepy category if it wasnt for the immersion breaking fan service.....other than that, it's villain designs and concept are def creepy
devilman crybaby is also scary
and castlevania goes beyond scary in some moments

I haven’t seen those other 2 so I’ll check them out

I like how the girl has that kinda dumb look on her face like the girl from that candy shop anime

I've read this a bit and it's appeal is the setting
it's all 100% 5-4am quiet nightlife where everything feels like time stopped and it's just the main characters

Overall I thought it was pretty good but I'm not all that satisfied with the ending.
I'm not a huge fan of anthropomorphized animals but if you're gonna go that route then commit to it. Making Odokawa have a brain injury that makes him see everyone as animals is just kinda silly, I guess. Like we aren't locked into his perspective. The viewer knows so much more about whats going on yet we only see the world the way he does? It kinda falls flat for me. And I also don't understand the reasoning for it besides giving him a tragic backstory. Neither the world nor the story changes because of the reveal. Just the way the characters are drawn changes. Idk, maybe I'm missing something. It didn't ruin the show or anything but it was definitely the worst part imo.
I still enjoyed the majority of the show though. Piecing together the mystery before things were revealed was pretty fun. The whole cast of characters was really good too. I liked getting peaks into their situations and then seeing how everyone was connected. 7/10

the logic for it was to mess with the viewer's perception....like why would we think anhtropomorphic animals are normal? just cause they're animated? well guess what, they actually served a plot purpose and we need to re-wire our brains to re-think what's considered normal and within what boundaries we choose to do so
so that makes sense to me in this way

With that context I guess it's a little better but it doesn't really change my overall feelings of the ending. But I get why it does for you. I know there's a movie coming out so I'll def give that a watch.
Im assuming the amount of animes be it new or old being added to crunchyroll recently is because the funimation merge? Since i think funimation was not available in south america, cause im seeing a lot of animes that were not available anywhere before
