Amazing art, great fleshed out characters, an interesting and intricate plot with many references to real historic events, proper representation of Ainu culture, good absurdist comedy.
Also one of the best villains in recent times imo.
Golden Kamuy is def in my top 10 now.

whenever the readers thought a certain plot point or character would go left they went right and vice versa plus its power system and world was so fickle anything could happen and it did

so, you take all of the above and sprinkle some nice artwork on top and you have a hit shounen series like CSM
