Not a bad choice. I'd suggest HxH later on when you've already dug through a few battle shounen, like Naruto, DragonBall etc. so you get the reasons it's getting rave reviews.
Also don't give in too much to the hype. It's definitely a very good show but like the first 40 episodes are very rough imo and the approach the author took to the story telling can lead to overcomplication and very weird pacing.
As for other good short shows I suggest Zankyou no Terror, Psycho Pass, Code Geass, Baccano, Samurai Champloo, Gurren Lagann
why the f*** would someone want to watch Naruto before Hunter x Hunter? these might be the worst recommendations i’ve ever seen, it’s like you’re trying to make him hate anime

Let’s see... you should peep snafu because szn 3 is coming soon
Love is hard for an Otaku was a nice short watch been watching Hyouka although it’s not really a rom
you could try peeping Golden Time, Kokoro connect, or Fruits Baskets (2019)
Movies like 5 centimeters per second hit too
I've seen all of these except golden time and fruits basket, so I'll start one of them, thanks
I watched the first episode of Lucky Star and don't know what to think. I just finished K-On!! and need some chill slice of life anime to watch before I go to bed.
Reminded me a lot of EARLY Home Movies, it was so slow, shoddy and bizarre, but I kinda fw it tbh it was pretty funny and I liked the specificity in the discussions.

I mess with it heavy, show is very much alike modern sitcom
It's a shame ppl are less likely to pick it up when they judge from the visuals alone assuming it's something childish when the characters are some of the best, realistic representation coming from that era (the 2000s) while these days the SoL shows we get are often the bubbly, rosey types. The segment by the end of every episodes really just cherry on top too. What a gem

I cringed seeing the character designs but immediately got into it when they started conversing. There's an eye for detail in the writing and I can tell the characters have defined personalities even after one episode.
Looking forward to watching more.

Why watch a show that cleverly subverts shounen tropes without knowing any by the book shows? Lmao
I dropped inuyasha at the band of seven arc
should've dropped it sooner.
Naraku was always on the run, inuyasha and kagome were annoying as f***, miroku's ''funny'' side got old too quick, sango and her brother were a burden and I wish koga would die already.
only characters I cared for were shippo and of course sesshomaru. (I wish he got more screen-time, dude was badass)
I just wish it didnt take me 100+ episodes to drop it.....I dont hate it tho, I enjoyed the movies since they didnt beat me over the head with same plot-concept again and again.
I bet if I watched it as a kid on tv I'd love it but right now I hope I could take back all the time I spent watching it
I liked it mostly because of the vibe and characters
The plot was indeed repetitive
I did like the seven band arc
Need a short slice of life/romance show, what yall recommend?
Preferably sth thats finished already
Lovely Complex

I don't like Naruto either but like you still need to see some of those shows to truly appreciate how good the writing of HxH is imo

3d Kanojo or Nagi no Asukara (has a nice fantasy flavor to it as well)
