Up until the end i did, but then i read the finale and 21st century boys and i now think they're equal (maybe monster is a tiny bit better).

That part about kanna having supernatural powers was bs and an obvious ass pull, didnt expect that from one of the best mangaka ever so that was kinda disappointing, also the story didnt provide a proper conclusion to some characters' story, for example kenji meeting with his sister and kanna is a relatively important plot point imo but it doesnt really happen, especially with the former.

Besides all of that it still is a 10/10 to me, i loved the plot, i find it really creative, and the way he manages to push the plot forward by even going backwards in time to relive the characters' childhood is amazing. There's not a character as strong as Johan in here but the amount of great characters surpasses Monster, the story is engaging from beginning to end and always keeps you at the edge of your seat.

Yeah I agree completely, especially about the ending of 20cb, but it's still such a unique journey and definitely a 10/10. I still prefer monster especially because of johan, the ending and the European setting. Seeing places in the Manga which I pass by on a daily basis in real life was amazing.
You should read pluto or Billy bat next, both are amazing imo. I think pluto is getting and Anime this year tho?

Yeah pluto is up next, heard great things about it and its also a short manga so im excited, the premise of it being in the astro boy universe is genius
I looked up about a possible anime adaptation and i found out it was annunced in 2017 for this year but we haven't heard anything since so who knows, would be dope if it actually comes out.

The live action joints came of horribly but they did Kenji's song justice.

Kenji's song was great, listening to it made one of my favorite scenes in the series more emotional than it already was so that was good.
Definitely aint watching the live action tho
