F*** crunchyroll but also im glad they made these webtoon adaptions possible cause i wouldnt have found out about these series on my own

Complete trash imo gave it a 3/10

re zero went full goat mode with the last 3 eps but I think the forest setting and the same characters over and over again give it little room for improvement

Kaguya is a refreshing take on rom coms with jojo-like drama moments

I thought season 1 of re zero was overrated, felt like the only good thing about it was the concept of rewinding time to correct the errors in subaru's path, but season 2 is building on the characters introduced in season 1 (except rem but her character was already tackled in season 1). Like the episode with subaru and his parents was top tier cause we see a side of Subaru we never saw, could go on. Also kaguya is simply mad entertaining and thats all it needs to be.
Lastly, great pretender is goat, feels a lot like cowboy bebop but its still its own thing, you need to watch it

rezerp s2 was far and away a huge improvement on s1

Great Pretender is incredible from an art / animation standpoint and the story is fun enough though im not a fan of how things get resolved in the last 2-3 episodes.

rzs2 has more interesting characters and gives more depth to some of the events in s1 and echidna is probly my fav character of this year

my only issue like I said is the setting. If the sanctuary was in a big city or some spiritual realm then szn2 would be 2x better

Would be super financially irresponsible to throw money at Mappa for 100+ episodes of GOHS when they weren't even sure if webtoons would be well-received. These three initial webtoons they're funding is basically them testing the waters to see if there's a relevant market for them.

they could've at least gone with 24-26 eps seasons

i don't wanna have to click play on a video just to go to a particular episode because these idiots make the s*** autoplay all the way to the beginning of a season when you finish an ep of a currently airing anime

Great Pretender imo is really lacking as far as plot goes. you’re right, the art is like AOTY level, but the s*** happening is sort of predictable and gets boring quick.

It is fairly predictable but I do think they do a pretty good job after the first arc in establishing compelling characters (in terms of their backstories) even if the stories themselves are too conveniently tied up.

I still would say its one of the best anime oty because the animation, art, music, style and characters are all top notch.

also word on the street is they’re trying to adapt ~200 chapters from Noblesse into 13 episodes if y’all ain’t understand what was happening in GoH cuz of the pacing then don’t bother watching Noblesse

i’m almost done with what Netflix has (first 14 episodes i think)

and yeah the characters are ok, but even then some of them feel cliche (Laurent) while others are interesting (Aby)

damn i was hoping for something similar to Tower of God, with good fights, characters, and a lot of emotion. this doesn’t sound like that
