The election arc is def the worst arc for me. There are a couple things i don't like about this arc but its still ok

its a transition arc to the dark continent in the manga / intentionally written as the ending for the anime
its good in the sense that it does what its intended to do

Where is your source? It was never written to be the ending for the Anime.
The problem lies more with how Gon got saved and Alluka.
when you hated the OP at first but towards the end of the season it becomes great
when it all makes sense

"Although you can say that at one point in the story -- where Gon meets Ging -- I have completed the story once. I believe that some readers must have thought 'Wasn't that supposed to be the endgame?' and I did write it to seem that way."
he didn't mention the actual anime but i feel thats the only reason he'd want to write an 'appropriate' ending at that particular point in time. the anime was quickly catching up with the manga and he wasn't compromising his workrate to make sure it didn't end like the 99 anime (randomly halfway through the yorknew arc)
as long as gon doesn't get his nen back, i'm fine with it. it was good foreshadowing for how overpowered the calamities are (alluka = ai)

Ah ok, i've seen that interview but as you said the Anime wasn't mentioned. Personally i just think that Togashi wanted to finish Gon's arc and focus on other characters and thats why he let Gon and Ging meet in a rather underwhelming way
Just finished psycho pass. Great anime. I'ma watch season 2 now even tho I know it doesn't have a good reputation
Haikyuu to start off the new year, Promised Neverland probably in the middle and AoT to finish it off

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam - 8.5/10
The characters in this show are the most human characters in Anime i've ever experienced. Everyone has their own goals, purpose and relationship to each other. The world is really complex, with multiple different factions involved and neither black or white. Kamille is a great protagonist. He starts out as a whiny kid but at the end, he becomes a really respectable human being. Char is one of the best characters in Anime ever and i can understand why he is so iconic. Episode 49 is one of the best Anime episodes i've ever seen. Overall really great show that i can reccomend to anyone, even if you don't like mecha because i know it might be surprising to some people but Gundam has never been about mecha fights, it always puts its human characters first and what they experience in war. The show is dragged down by some really clunky animation and some stretches of episodic stories here and there that don't really move the story anywhere. I might give it a 9 after some days, if it hasn't cooled of for me.
