I tried to get into some of asano's works like Downfall and Dead Dead to get ready for punpun cause I've heard the worst about it lol

besides that the mc doesnt have a face I have no idea what its about

i'm all caught up. I had stopped whenever the author took his break.

But I've more or less always had this opinion while reading it. The action is ok, but I've never really been a fan of any series, where the MC is straight up OP. It's boring to read. Then couple that with nobody else can apparently raise their own power to match him through training + easily overpowering enemies as well, it's just mid. The artwork really the only reason to read it.

I'm not fully caught up but I think it can be interesting even if the mc is OP.
I think there's a great amount of growth he can experience along with facing good enemies of different species that will also reveal how the hunter/gate system works and give us insight on his leveling....the artwork is the best part about it tho
