Why are the main characters in dbz/naruto/mha/hxh/op/haikyu type anime’s all the same kinda ppl
it’s always some kid who doesn’t have a parent(s) + super enthusiastic, happy go lucky, and kinda dumb/goofy but also the strongest person on the planet
and the story line is always just some kid who doesn’t know his full potential on a journey to become the best/strongest at what he does
Don’t anime ppl get tired of watching pretty much the same story over and over again?
Is Konosuba Gintama tier or not?
Gintama gets referenced in daily life in Japan, Konosuba still not at that level

Shonen moves Yen like a mf so mangaka have no reason to switch it up
Honestly thats why i avoid a lot of battle shonen cause the plots are always mediocre (plot is what i like best in anime)

Standard shonen formula
People still gonna flock for the fight scenes, the way the story builds, the settings after all. Those can still be enjoyable and refreshing from one series to another
I already moved on from that phase
damn just starting season 5 hxh and I already miss the skip intro/skip outro ft on Netflix

Gon, onizuka and yabuki joe are all shonen characters but they're not generic. You're in the 5th arc of hxh so you'll see soon what makes gon stand out

Thats only the case if you look at it superficially. Deku is completely different from Goku who is completely from Naruto and who is different from Luffy. A lot of the tags you are throwing out there, don't even fit most shows. Most of the protags on there are far from the strongest on the planet.
I think the only thing, they all have in common is that they are pure hearted. Most Shonen battle Manga are classical 'Hero journey' type stories and heroes that are pure hearted fit those stories the most. But there is also enough Manga out there that isn't like this. Just dig deeper.
