If I recall correctly they have 200ish employees, though a bunch of those are on the production side like producers, managers, assistants, etc. Others are freelancers with Mappa-binding contracts. Nowhere near enough to keep up with the amount of s*** they put out, which is why people always talk about Mappa's consistently s***ty production schedules.

They make up for the lack of manpower by relying on lots of freelancers.

I’m really enjoying World Trigger. I’m on chapter 86 right now, and I’d give it a solid 7/10. There hasn’t been any real ass pulls in the fights so far. They’ve all been fairly strategic.

The ensemble of characters is kinda weak though. A couple stand outs, they’re all for the most part pretty basic and unremarkable.

Peeped some of the fight scenes on YouTube that I’ve read through so far. They’re a lot better than I thought they would be considering this was animated in like 2013-2014 iirc. Tempted to watch s1 of the anime after I finish. I seen some things in s2 and Toei really stepped it up.
