Ive always seen it as him making fun of harems where all the girls are unnecessarily sexualized, but imo when karen and hanekawa get sexualized for example its not just simple fanservice. Everyone's free to see it differently, if to you they're just fanservice that's fine
Medaka box is another series like monogatari where nisioisin also pokes fun and parodies a big genre

Like the heavy sexualization of hanekawa in kizumonogatari makes a lot of sense given the context and her relationship with araragi in the movies. I can also see people criticizing it

Monogatari fanservice is fine imo. At least it pulls double duty and serves a purpose for the narrative unlike a lot of other shows.

Also, not seeing this Hachikuji fan service everyone else is seeing. Compare the camerawork of Araragi messing with Hachikuji scenes vs the camerawork during scenes where Kanburu is using her sexuality to tease Araragi. The camerawork in both scenes is completely different due to the differing relationships between the characters.

that’s a good point about the camera remaining tasteful in the Hachikuji scenes, but even the s*** dude is saying to her while he does it is just inexplicably out of pocket
