pretty much what it sounds like. most the characters are gang leaders/in gangs/cops and journalists and the shows explore the seedy underbelly of big cities, one being set in Japan and the other in the states. i’m not too deep into Durarara!! yet so i can’t rly speak too much on it, but Banana Fish gave me Black Lagoon x The Wire vibes lmao

Durarara seems to be a bit less serious and emotional than BF
