usually japanese people i talk to hype up kingdom but even there its a pretty niche series

i think it's because the anime's animation was incredibly bad for 2 seasons and it finally got good season 3. Mangas usually take a while to build up, imo. It's a great read. I ignore the anime

Amazing animation and soundtrack. Story was whatever bit I'll keep watching.

Keep watching bruv it’s my favorite series of anime movies by far. The storyline might seem weird at first because it’s not chronological order for the first couple movies but it’ll come together so nicely

I don't think so.

I wasn't too sure so I checked Rakuten/mangazenkan/CMOA/oricon for this month and it wasn't up there like that. I'm sure it still sells well, as it's been serializing consistently since 2006.
But in my experience if you took a Japanese person off the side of the street they're more likely to have watched/read My Hero Academia or Jujutsu Kaisen than Kingdom, it was mostly Otaku I met that knew about it and read it.
