A collab album for Jay Electronica
A placement on BP3 for J Cole
“Drake’s up next see what he do with it” - Jay
- Cole
It and Thank Me Later have a lot of the same critiques but they’re both enjoyable listens and are light years ahead of the trash we get today
Funniest part is that Cole World probably aged the best musically outta all his albums but niggas don't wanna admit it
The sprint thing was with 4:44, my bad, and it was a Tidal exclusive for a bit. Sprint bought a million copies and gave them away as promo.
With Mchg, it was a deal with Samsung whereby Samsung purchased a million copies to distribute with its phones, but they didn't count towards billboard first week (it actually sold 500k+ on the first week)
ik but idk if the samsung people got to actually hold the files it was 2013 era streaming. how did they decide who gets paid what. like it wasn't "sales"
People forget Mr Nice Watch is a reference to Jay’s song A Million and One Questions where he says “Ugh nice watch” in the same cadence
Drake and Cole were talking at the Grammy's or some industry part and Jay said Drake "What are you doing give this guy a hit". Jay treated Cole terribly

Doesn’t make it good
I mean I liked it but I was just sharing a lil fun fact
F*** you
Drake and Cole were talking at the Grammy's or some industry part and Jay said Drake "What are you doing give this guy a hit". Jay treated Cole terribly
But was he wrong tho? this is actually Jay trying to help Cole

J Cole was already buzzing by then. Friday Night Lights was the debut he should’ve put out which had ironically some of the same hits that ended up on CW:SS. Like I said before I’d never say Jay Z didn’t give Cole a bigger leg up because of the Roc Nation co-sign but he did the bare minimum to support his own artist which is crazy to me personally
Doesn’t make it good
The beat on that song is so f***in awful
Plus it’s insane that Jays given Meek, Jeezy, Drake, Kanye etc… all time classic verses and this weak bullshit is the only Hov feature on a Cole project. That unironically makes the song worse in hindsight

Samsung bought digital copies upfront. Sales to distributors/partners like Samsung are still treated as shipping to retailers by RIAA, hence the platinum status. However, Billboard didn't count them, as it accounts for consumer transactions.

What a terrible take
Only In The Morning which feature Drake
You’re right. Lights Please was on The Warm Up I forgot my b

Was still trash and a waste of a Jay feature
You’re right. Lights Please was on The Warm Up I forgot my b
It was also on cwss
What a terrible take
How, Cole's production got way worse after FNL and Cole World
He was making the best music when he was trying to be Kanye

It’s pissing me off just thinking about it man

He was making the best music when he was trying to be Kanye
That's your opinion, but even if that were true, better production doesn't automatically mean it aged the best.
Only In The Morning which feature Drake
I heard in the morning at a hookah lounge the other day my inner middle school me was going crazy
