    S*** is amazing

    The feels
    The jarring beats
    The frustration
    The subject matter

Also, while none of them are exactly like Yeezus, i found a good starting place was looking at some of the collaborators on the album:

    Arca
    Gesaffelstein
    Hudson Mohawke/TNGHT

    Good starting points imo

This is a great point. Thanks bro

First of all, Nas never told Cole to make that track. Cole was insecure back then and a hearsay thing made him do the absolute most lol.

Sure you can point out a few missteps in Nas' career, but generally he has kept it realer than pretty much everyone else in the rap game.

Taking advice from the man who has maintained a prolific career over 3 decades without being a sellout is the right thing to do.

Matter of fact, he gave Cole the blueprint that made him a respectable artist among the general public.

Sideline Story was full of generic radio tracks + half assed empty punchline bars.

After Nas' commentary, Cole has stepped up his songwriting, started putting more emphasis on substance, and then the going platinum without features thing happened. It's no surprise that Cole has stayed in that lane for the rest of his career ever since.

Lol I was pointing out how it’s kinda a L for Cole how Nas wasn’t into Work out cuz it was too mainstream

Then later Nas is doing OTR

    I still don't get what you're saying

Nas did Rodeo remix. Are you trying to say that he sold out or something?

Being a young artist on the come up, who has fans that count on him to fulfill his potential as a real artist..

.. is not the same as being an OG who's not a hater and accepts a young artist's request to do a collab.

    I give up lol

Basically Nas s***ted on Cole but did not s*** on Lil Nas

But I guess cole was held to a different standard 🤔

My b, kinda was a half ass thought anyway and I can’t articulate it

    Oh lmao

Yeah Nas knows that LNX is not a really rapping dude

Also Nas has changed since then, he's extremely supportive of young artists these days regardless of their lyrical skills. Has shown a lot of artists like Gunna, Nav, etc love in the last few years.
