I haven’t taken a math test in about 10 years. I recall the fundamentals of algebra, linear and parabolic formulas, some geometric formulas I’ve actually used at work. With Calculus, I was s*** from the start.

I tutor calc1 and 2 so give me a ring whenever you’d need help
@op do you have a bachelors degree?

Appreciate it brother

Yep, Fine Arts. Been working in luxury retail for the last 4 years, completely burned out and with no room for growth.

Going to grad school for information systems would be better than just getting certs if you want to go into IT, will help with networking and landing a job
I think you should reconsider this though, you say you want to make things and don’t like math, if you go into IT you won’t be making anything and it’ll be much different from your current job, and you won’t enjoy any real engineering if you don’t already love math
Have you considered some sort of design? Fashion seems similar to what you do now, product you’d be working alongside engineers, or UX you’d be working alongside software devs, and they would do most of the math lol

I’ve applied to several design positions, haven’t even heard back from any of them. Not really that interested in fashion, but haven’t considered product design
UX is something I’ve considered too. I have some coding experience from school and I enjoyed doing it too, but it was at a very basic level.
What type of engineering? I could be considered a computer scientist/software engineer
Math was a b**** to me. I dropped software engineering so quick lmao.
Calculus is a mf
physics is a whole other level. its topics ive been trying to understand for years an i still dont understand it rly

Mechanics wasn't too bad
Electricity and magnetism is voodoo

tbh i went to a hbcu and it wasnt too bad, if i was at some big state school id probably quit

i understand euler-lagrange kinda, but the hamiltonian s*** goes way above my head
im not a physicist but from what i understand those topics are the heart of classical mechanics

Look into graduate programs

Got a cushy UX/UI job with just a degree in Strategic Communications
Lot of what I know was self taught outside of college

U got any recommendations for resources to learn?
I’ve spent the last few months learning calculus on Khan Academy. I’m not quite locked in but I put in time on my days off work and occasionally after work if I have the energy to do so. Also refreshed college algebra and trigonometry and breezed through them. I haven’t touched Physics yet, and Calculus is a b**** but I’m actually really enjoying it. For the first time in adulthood I truly believe I’ve found my path
