I'm wanting to buy some equipment so I can learn but I know I likely won't be good enough to do parties and s*** for awhile but was wondering how much money you can really make off of it, it's good to have multiple incomes and I'd love to do it even just for fun.

Honestly whatever you're comfortable with. I used a cheap Numark controller and it had all the features I needed. I don't do much/any scratching so the wheels are just for beatmatching and it worked good enough for me. I've used VirtualDJ, Serato, and DJay and they all work well. DJay is nice because it has Spotify and Tidal integration
