I just made one where I do video essays. It's not all that niche or specific so I'm kind of struggling on finding the best ways to promote it when each video varies in subject matter. Would love some tips if y'all got em.

Maybe utilize other social media platforms to drive traffic towards your videos.

YouTube Shorts is also a really strong option rn for people seeing your stuff, though it caters more towards short-form content.

Just be consistent and don't stop.

    Also, post on Reddit.

No problem man, always happy to help out where I can.

Like @Zulaw said, the YouTube algorithm definitely rewards consistency, so if you can, try to stick to a consistent content strategy. YouTube growth takes time, so be ready to invest a long amount of time into it if you really believe in it and your audience will find you.

Some other things to keep in mind:

    • Attractive, attention getting thumbnails. They definitely make a difference.

    • May be obvious, but video quality. You mentioned you are doing video essays, so pay special attention to your audio. Visuals that help drive your point or convey your story are also key.

    • Begin and end with a call-to-action. Asking for a like, subscribe, share, etc might feel corny in the moment but people often forget them, even when they love and enjoy the content. This will help build and retain your audience.

that's the main thing I keep hearing. Im about 2 months in but every YouTube person I follow says the same thing in any of their "advice videos." Guess its just a matter of persistence and patience

Yea I actually just got the audio sounding clean. Kind of makes me want to take down my initial videos and redo them but I might wait on that in case having the back catalogue helps.

Yeah don't spend too much time looking back, just keep moving forward with the better skills you've acquired. People like to see the progress. It might be worth doing when you get bigger, though.
