I am not but I have a personal trainer. Idk if she really doesn’t like me or if women are just naturally harder trainers cause she’s worse than all 3 previous male trainers I’ve had.

1. For how long have you employed her?
2. Are you seeing results?
3. What makes the experiences w her negative?

About 2 months I think. I’ve been seeing results yeah.
It feels like that cause of the general attitude I get from her. She isn’t very talkative aside from the same one or two attempts at conversation she makes every single conversation every single time which kinda feels forced. She could just be an awkward person, I’m not sure.

I like it how u immediately made it a gender issue

I didn’t mean it as an issue, you just took it that way. A trainers job is to push you to muscle failure and push you even harder beyond that. If women are better at doing that, they’re better trainers.
It’s only a problem if she’s doing it out of spite.

Do you actually need a PT? How long have you been in the gym? 2 months sounds long enough to get all the basic lifts down and to know what your strength range is tbh.
Seeing that she’s providing a service to you, I believe that you should feel fulfilled with it. If I had a PT, I’d want them to be engaged with me, which it doesn’t seem like you’re getting here. It’s your money, make sure she’s earning it

Yeah my sister is a pt and she’s given me a couple lessons but she always goes way too hard. I still have to be able to work s***.

Lol maybe women do make better trainers then, seems to be the trend.

I’m in a contract so yeah I gotta stay with my trainer, but it’s up in October, and I’d like to start boxing so this is a good way to make certain I’m in shape. It’s not just about getting familiar with the gym and different exercises, working out is a VERY different experience when someone else is pushing you, vs. you pushing yourself.

A male trainer could be doing it out of spite. U immediately assume male ones do it because they are professional but with the female trainer you’re considering it’s out of spite and not because shes good at her job lol. Btw u dnt have to kill yourself with every workout, a good trainer makes training enjoyable and makes sure ur not sore

No… I said I can’t tell if it’s out of spite or just that women train different, which I said would be an explicitly good thing. In my later post I said maybe she’s just awkward. And I said in my next post maybe women are better trainers.
A male trainer could be doing it out of spite yes but I’ve never had that experience with any of my past three male trainers so naturally I wouldn’t mention that. And it’s not just cause she trains me hard, it’s an attitude thing as well cause when we are training together, it just feels a bit off.
Not all collective gender statements are meant negatively. We’re both saying the same thing. I like how she trains hard but wish she was a bit nicer.
