if I could go back in time I wouldn’t change anything as my design skills helped me get to where I’m at and I was able to transfer those skills but that might just be survivor bias

I'm lucky that my team is so small that they know they depend on my ass to make s*** look pretty for their marketing materials so I'm kinda too valuable where I'm kinda on beck and call

That’s awesome, it really makes a difference when you have a small team that values you.

I was in a similar boat except upper management was absolutely terrible and didn’t know what they were doing so it ended up overshadowing any pros as they had a “what i say goes” mentality lol

see if there's inexpensive courses for graphic design you can take at a local college. that's the best way to give urself enough structure to learn illustrator and photoshop which is what you will primarily need to know
