He's one of my favorite artists of all time. His range and creativity got me excited about recording my own music. Something/Anything (comfortably in my top 50 albums ever) and A Wizard/A True star are invigorating as hell but he has plenty of other albums that are less playful but still stand strong on their songwriting alone.

I also really like his debut, it's like a weirder version of The Ballad of Todd Rundgren that kind of feels like a dry run for Something/Anything. Lot of great tracks on there but it lacks polish and consistency.

zen archer is a CRAZY song

this 90’s styled edm it all went up in smoooooooke the intro and how he builds it with the transitions. the edits he did on this s*** with these harmonies and that chorus. it’s all very easy listening but the thing is

ite so crazy how it unfolds 😳the bubbling wall of synths and slide 🛝 🎸 guitars vibraphones & the fact he just flies in these cavernous angelic harmonies. the goat was in his 60’s when he made that. they got one part where he’s in a vocal reverb echo with just his voice and then they bring back the synths and then it’s like a mushroom trip with todd

the lp is just one track that keeps spiraling together
