  • DoD here. Our reckoning comes this week. I’m at one of the most mission critical sites on the east coast, so I’m hoping that means something.

Looks like it’s mostly probationary employees for now but you can’t really predict anything with this administration

Has anybody here been laid off or know someone who has?

Yeah I work in the fed. My agency appears relatively safe according to everything I read about it on project 2025.

I know people from the CFPB and USAID that have been affected though. Funnily enough, they’re still being paid as they’re on indefinite administrative leave with no work to do or not allowed to do any work.

So I’m confused about the admin leave thing. Are people not actually fired yet? Just on admin leave? Or are the admin leave people the ones who took the fork email?

This whole thing is a clusterfuck

Also reading the project 2025 plan for dod is actually a pretty smart idea that I didn’t think of. Thanks for that

Complete clusterfuck nobody really knows s*** tbh. I think probationary employees were fired and maybe some term employees, and maybe it’s just luck that the people I know were placed on admin leave instead? I think a judge blocked further firings for the moment. If you took the fork I believe you’re just on admin leave but I’ve heard some took the fork and were still fired.

Been following /r/fednews on Reddit for updates. But yeah you might get some insight into their moves by reading Project 2025, might be harder for DoD since it’s so large, my agency is fairly niche but still had like 50 pages relevant to it.

Fork only made sense if you were about to retire anyways. I fully expect non-retiring forkers to get rugpulled

My only concern is that I don't think VERA was authorized by every agency for the Fork. So even retirees might get a surprise rugpull

Nothing wrong with federal work. It isnt much different from state work depending on what you’re doing. I supply drinking water

Not everyone is some evil fbi/cia/nsa drone. I think that’s where the federal boogeyman thing comes from but not really sure
