The US military sucks ass but it does give folks a way out of a s*** situation in life with very little room to move up. Which is what the army counts on the most these days in order to pull more people in. Do your 4-5 years and be done with that s*** as soon you can.
It's still f*** the US as a country and the armed forces for leaving people little options but risking their own ass to potentially fight for a country that don't even give a damn about them. I'm fortunate to be doing well enough where I don't have to consider enlisting. But best believe that s*** beats being broke, facing homelessness, or being unable to provide for your child. Especially in a country where all it takes to face all that s*** is one bad medical emergency that keeps you out of work for a month. Don't let any of the privileged dorks itt try and belittle you for having to join the army just to get by/survive. They come from a life that knows very little struggle.
