Living With… Owusu & Hannibal

This’ll probably get buried into oblivion by gossip or trolled but I thought I’d contribute some music somebody might actually dig.

I was put onto this tape via a Pharrell interview done sometime back in the late 00’s by a publication called Nylon Magazine. The interviewer hung out with Pharrell at a studio in Miami and discussed music and other things while Pharrell got his hair cut. (Charles Hamilton was in attendance and Pharrell made him freestyle then gave him a nod as the future of music)

The interviewer explains how Pharrell was kind of an arrogant a****** with his entourage around but somewhere along the line he opened up and gave his opinion on some musical tastes of his. One of which was this album called Living with Owusu & Hannibal.

I instantly found it and downloaded it (back in late 2010) and have been jamming it ever since. At the time, the Danish producer, singer duo were virtually unknown and they soon after split. But Robin Hannibal went on to receive 4 Grammy Noms and, to my surprise, work with some of fhe biggest names in the industry. (Pharrell himself, Kendrick on GKMC, Calvin Harris, Drake, Leon Ware etc)

If you’ve never heard or heard of them, check it out… it’s a future funk kinda vibe that’s atmospheric and melodic. Unlike too much other stuff I’ve heard before or since.
