    they dont usually do that unless its a stylistic thing (which then its usually more extreme and "on the nose"), or like a dj mix etc. that type of thing.

    most artists will re-record to make it sound natural and "normal".

    why'd he do it? idk. my only guess logically maybe they lost or didnt have access to the og files and didnt want to re-record maybe to keep a specific energy he cant recapture. thats the only thing that makes sense to me.

    salvage a record and just rework it the best you can so you can keep the feeling/energy of the original recording and/or original song - which does happen to artists in any genre although its rare
