At the very least if it's not sad to you on a surface level, I hope you can at least recognize how emotionally challenging this song is.

The "calling up your uncles place" and "heard you need a new fad" bridges are evocative of a guy who is completely strung out over being shut out of this woman's life. Strung out to the point of insanity. I think I'm getting this from the delivery/production of the vocals...they sound so desperate and loony.

Then it drops into the guitar solo....man what a f***ing track.

I wouldn’t call it sad. It’s definitely a very sonic sounding song about going too far with substances. Overall, whatever you make of the song, it’s one of his best.
