Yeah i bring desserts home from montreal to my familly all the time. Like a few times a year.
It’s totally fine.
Make sure it’s packed tight. Carryon will get thrown around less so it will stay together better. Wrap the cardboard box its in in a couple plastic bags so it doesnt leak in your bag.

Do you use ice packs or anything like that to prevent it spoiling

How long is the flight?
The best thing To do might be to freeze it then take it out of the freezer at the last minute. So it will only be just thawing when the plane lands, if your flight is only 2 or 3 hours.
Ive done this transporting smoked salmon and smoked meat without any issues.
A couple Ice packs can def help, as long as they dont toss around and smoosh it.
You could slice it in a way it all fits in a big thermos too that might be the best way to keep it cold. Thats what I did with the smoked salmon.

Haha frozen smoked salmon, which doesnt smell unless its gone bad, that was in an airtight seal in a thermos.
It didnt smell at all and was still frozen by the time i got off the flight. It would be no differnt than having it in a portable freezer.
If you’ve ever had a montreal smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel you would understand the need to do this.

if you can afford to, I would say get an insulated freezer bag that can fit the food inside, then along with the cheesecake, keep that bag in the freezer until right before you leave
A bag like that has kept my food cold traveling from Nigeria to the U.S, which including layovers was over 20 hours

Perfect okay this is what I was thinking about trying to find. Like one of those bags the Pizza Hut guys use. Should be able to get one delivered in time too if I can’t find one in town
