I live there ya. You gotta get Schwartz in smoked meat sandwiches lil Portugal. Gotta get the bagels. See if any concerts or anything are happening when your here to see those. As far as like things to see here what are u into? Theres art galleries, zoo, parks. Def check out the old port and old montreal!! Parc Jean Drapeau is beautiful, Parc Mont royal is too. It’s super safe too for sure just walk around everywhere and explore. The subways are easy to use and nice tbh. Even each station has artwork you could almost do a gallery tour of each of the subway station they’re so nice.

from a toronto guy, just know that you can speak english there. they'll just be reluctant to speak english, but montreal is def more lax than other QC cities--though it's respectful to know basic greetings to show that you're trying

also, i have a friend who moved from vancouver to mtl and she doesn't speak french so don't trip. try going to shows (mostly edm) and club a bit, the nightlife is amazing

I’ve lived here for 3 years and speak next to no French do not worry about language. There’s too many restaurants to name but give me specific food you want to try and I will tell you spots

The most important thing I tell everyone visiting Montreal is just get the bixi (citi bike) membership. It’s $20. Even if you only use it once it will come out to the same amount

Hard to compete because New York has so many great restaurants but my personal top 3 recs are yokato yokabai in the plateau for the best ramen I’ve ever had, pumpui in little Italy for insane Thai food and Serrano rotisserie (across from st viateur bagels on st viateur) for the goated chicken sandwich. If you’re trying to party just lurk at laurent

The best part of the city is the green space man so just chill in parks and take it all in. I will die on the hill that this is the greatest city on earth in the summer. There’s truly nothing quite like it. Enjoy my guy and let me know how the trip was and if you need more recs

When are you headed exactly cause Festival season is about to start so the city is lit in differents spots depending on what event is going on (Mural festival, Francofolies, F1 Grand Prix weekend, Osheaga, Ile Soniq, etc)
