I feel like I need to make amends with religion/gods, it's not like I don't feel good about myself and I'm looking for some type of salvation or anything of the sorts. I just regret the way I treat this thing that is so important to so many people, I'm tired of rebelling.
Maybe reading the Bible will help me empathize with all the things I worked so hard to discredit.
So this is me asking for the verses, chapters or whatever you suggest.

Read the four synoptic gospels and review them here.
start w the gospels i'd say
new testament
matthew, mark, luke, john,
all different perspectives from generally the same time period, where jesus was teaching
I don't really put a lot of weight on most of the other stuff because I think it's like revelation is about the end of the world and 7 headed dragons coming to kill everyone but
There's a free bible app on the app store and you can plug your headphones in and listen as if it were an audiobook too, theres that option to make it accessible
(just clarifying: I think a lot of the other stuff like psalms proverbs and the general story are very valuable because of the effect these stories had on where we are now and human society in general, but a lot of it is like reading a story, and i think jesus teaching has the best instructions
I have plenty of criticisms about the bible but there is a lot of good things and values that you can take from it to enrich your life no matter who you are. Better to have some sort of value/foundation behind you than be about nothing at all.)
most important thing to me is what jesus had to say, i like reading about that
I grew up catholic, I'm a pretty spiritual person. I keep my bible on my bedside table, I've ready a lot of the old testament and I've worked through most of the new testament.
I'd like to read some other great religious texts in the future. Next up on my list is Black Elk Speaks.
Over 10k religions and what we call 'myths' are just old religion. I ain't s***ting on the Bible cuz lotta good stuff in there despite the likelihood there ain't no god so I'm just saying diversify your reading

I’d suggest looking into a scripture that hasn’t been corrupted

I agree that the Bible is mostly myth, but do you really think there isnt an intelligent designer of the universe?

the idea of hell still scares the s*** out of me tho
I read it during basic training cause it was the only book we had. And the stories were pretty good but it didn’t do much for me. I like job 23 tho
