The closest one near me is hiring. The starting pay is high for the state I live in. Currently I don’t make enough to support the lifestyle I want. I work in a small retail store. Very chill, easy, and doesn’t require a lot of effort. However I just don’t make the money I need. I never worked in a warehouse environment. Closest was at a larger retail store where I would scan in truck deliveries and stock the whole store. I know this will be a lot tougher work.
What are your experiences working at an Amazon warehouse? I’ve heard a mixed reception. Some have said they hated it. Some have said they loved it.
You'll move a lot but if you can't reach metrics you'll be fired.
You probably doing 4 day work weeks - 10 hours each day... Can be a bit of a drag but having 3 days off is lit
But if you want to move up it could take a while. This differs among each location tho.

Is it really difficult to reach goals they set?

just gotta keep moving fam. really budget your time on breaks and stuff. dont spend time talking or other stuff
Edit: My neighbor retired from his car dealship job at like 62 years old but hes still in great shape. He worked at amazon part time for like 8 months till the pandemic hit. He did it easily and he did it cause his son told him it was like getting paid to work out and he was all about that.

"be as robotic as possible"

Depends on you.... They raised em at the one I was at..

my mom works for healthcare company. Shes been working from home for like 20 years. They are slowly transitioning into this and the workers work from home.

makes me sick how workers are wrung for every ounce of productivity possible and we get nothing in return
I was on the flex position packing so i got to pick my own hours. that was chill as f*** but the full time workers were damn near dead of boredom. U gotta reach 80 boxes an hour (pack side), pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
if u on the docks damn bro 10 hours of stacking totes. Couldnt be me. Either way no matter what position u at if youre WA you gon end up doing it regardless
Warehouse gonna be working you hard, deliver drivers get worked hard too but you might like the solidarity and you can listen to your music while you’re delivering.
Whole food shopper is like delivery but you basically shipping in the Whole Foods store and delivering to people like instacart but since it’s amazon you wouldn’t have to hop from store to store just going into Whole Foods and you can listen to music in there.
Warehouse they’ll never let you listen to music due to safety and you can hardly have a convo with other workers to pass the time due to getting your metrics done and the damn loud ass noise that go on. Supporting managers can basically pull you from what you doing and tell you to pull out from the truck or stack pallets etc whenever they feel like it.
Yeah don’t work in the warehouses unless that’s what you want. Let the 30+ yr olds do that s***
Did that s*** for like a week and it whack
I was a packer and like people are saying you’re just basically a robot and they call out top performers over an intercom every hour
Bootlickers love it because they can bust their ass for a corporation who could care less about them
I worked at one for 4 weeks. Great pay and hours.
I was a picker which I reccomend. Only issue is no ear buds at the one I was at but supposedly you can hide buds with a headband
Lost weight in the short time I was there
Good breaks too btw
Can't really complain too much I had to leave in order to pursue part time (decided against even attempting to switch there) culture was gross tho in general, only downside. Felt like a robot, rarely interacted with anyone, covid regulations were weird, and getting a shirt that said hero on it left a bad taste in my mouth
It's worth it if you don't really have other options or aren't pursuing higher education. Pay is great. Really not as bad as many make it out to be
I can answer any questions
Also r/amazonfc is very useful for any and all info regarding working there. I think that's the sub name at least
