Playing it again rn. So many amazing moments. Game is full of things I’m surprised I don’t see praised more

Random fav thing on this play through is how the GCPD police lock up gets more and more populated as the game goes on. Walking through & having henchmen villains behind bars shouting at you, seeing the main villains in their own cells, police officers whispering and pointing at you. Having unique dialog with each of the villain as the game progresses.

It’s almost like a precursor to the RDR2 camp, where you’re like ‘man I don’t wanna miss a single unique dialog moment in this place because it’s constantly shifting, evolving, adding new people to talk to, adding new conversations’ etc

The into at that little diner (full of Easter eggs too. There’s posters on the walls and newspaper headlines that foreshadow sooo much of the game) where you go over to the guy ‘smoking in the corner’ and it’s actually a scarecrow trap

The part where you press A to burn joker’s corpse as that old timey song plays

Then you finally jump in as Batman on top of the city, showing the huge leap in basically everything technology wise

PC does miss the Adam West and JL 3000 suits unfortunately, though I think they can be added in with mods. Not sure how good those are. Earth-2 is PS4 exclusive too, I think?

When I found out you can actually knock out certain people while they're behind bars to shut their snide asses up

i dont know if this is a hot take but i think arkham knight is the weakest of the three arkham games (not counting that dogshiyte origins game )

not saying that asylum and city are masterpieces in writing but the lack of paul dini on knight's writing team is pretty clear, feels like the story just flounders around

gameplay is whole nother story, its pretty solid for the most part but the tank sequences are absolutely foul and just soured the game so much for me

yeah i agree with this, arkham knight just kind of felt bloated. I would even argue that arkham city brushed right up against the line of bloat but arkham knight just fell off the edge entirely

Honestly I didn’t find the Batmobile that bad but I get where you’re coming from

I gotta be the only one who thinks Arkham city’s story is just average

for me it was a big missed opportunity. for instance the riddler challenges should’ve been done on the streets of gotham. so that you could simultaneously ingrain yourself in the world by learning about the city streets, while completing challenges. as they have it now it just feels very distant from the gameplay of being batman. it feels like there are two distinct sections of gameplay and they don’t really mesh that well
