    Anyone really into song/album sales?

Streaming era its way easier to get platinum and higher songs but harder for albums and
physical era was the other way around.

For example Sicko mode went diamond in 2 years but what would that look like in physical era. andf/or what would he a song from physical era that you think was just as big

But it’s a fun entertainment to look into since I already like music

I guess like fantasy football in a way but not really? But I’m not as into as you prob

Feel like it’s only weird when people try and use sales as a way to measure music quality

I’m sure you know who I’m talking about

That’s egregious but in general it’s just bizarre to me like do they follow how much their brand of coffee sells? Their car? Numbers and sales feels like it’s diametrically opposed to the part of the brain music would stimulate

Of course. Separates the facts from the fiction. The frauds from the real. Most importantly, it shows who actually makes noise and who doesnt.

    Men lie
    women lie
    numbers don't

    Yeah idk.

I usually just look at Top 10 or s*** like that. So I’m a super casual with that stuff anyways.

I couldn’t imagine making spreadsheets or trying to calculate how much it’ll go up or down in a week.

Or the people that follow those Twitter charts accounts

nothing against op but music discussion with people who are is so frustrating

    'revival was not great'

'oh yeah well it charted longer than illmatic and outsold it worldwide also outstreamed if revival wasnt great why do people consume it at the rate they do atleast em has enough fans to consume his s*** nas isnt that important, em can sell stadium nas cant etc etc etc.'

them types are incapable of articulating what aspects of music they like or dislike, just live through stats and present them as an objective measure of quality

they're more interested in statistic than the music itself

Dont care abt charts or billboard or awards only thing that matters in music is certifications

Best way to tell the longevity not just whats hot right now
