Man I used to love that movie back in the day. A hood classic no pun intended. Yeah, by todays standards some of the acting, writing and especially the special effects are corny and outdated but it's still a great movie with a solid message. The ending scared the hell outta me as a kid. Now it's just funny, but still dope. Now that I'm older though, some of the twists at the end are predictable, but still an underrated gem all these years later for sure

The sequels were trash though, even though part 3 with the late Tony Todd was at least decent and an upgrade from the crappy 2nd film. Wish a fourth movie could come out with a good writer and decent budget. There's still potential for the series imo. Anyway lol I posted this cuz it's free on YouTube (they be having some bangers sometimes) at the moment if anyone wanted to watch it again, or for the first time. For those who didn't see it I don't recommend watching the trailer as it spoils one of the most important things wtf 1995 ass editing lol. But it's basically an anthology movie with 4 horror stories about child abuse, black on black crime and a few other things, with a horror twist.

S*** was wild lol. I liked the concept of that story it seemed simple but unique at the same time.

Best part about this and one of the coolest parts of the movie was them getting David Alan Grief to play such a menacing, serious role, when he was known at the time for doing more light hearted, comedic stuff. He nailed this.

not a bad candidate for sure. Not sure if I'd want a part 4 or like you suggested a reboot. A reboot actually of the first movie would be amazing IF done right. We've seen some remakes and reboots actually be pretty good and a lot that are s***ty. Always depends on who directs, the script, and general film style, cinematography, music etc. While we on the subject that might be my next thread actually, seeing what are people's favorite and worst movie reboots
