Used alcohol/benzos for almost every social situation in the past year or so. Yeah I'm completely dependent on them. Got a full time job while barred and drinking within minutes of meeting some dude (yeah thats what I used I for, I turn into a social butterfly from a anxious/quiet kid)

been there for like 4 days now and and haven't had time to do d**** cuz full time job, notice I am SHAKEY and SWEATY mess at ALL times when sober. This s*** aint normal, I managed to cut alcohol out, 3-4 days sober from that, but still pop my bars every night to go to sleep. Weening off those too, (eg, 1.75 one night, 1.25(1 and quarter bar), other night, .75 last night. Yeah thats a real aggressive taper ik but I got to ask, does this shakiness/sweatiness go away or do I need a medical specialist or some s***?

It's only gonna be a matter of time before people at work notice and I don't wanna depend on these stupid fkn pressed d**** I don't even know what's in them.

bro from what I've seen you need a good two weeks off the benzos at least before that edge goes away.

it would be safer to talk to a medical professional bro. benzo withdrawal can kill you. if all else fails it's safer in a rehab. i'd rather lose your job than your life. please be safe.

Yeah I'm aware, I only been on the benzos since September tho, alcohol 1-2 years. Thought this only applied to hardcore addicts tho.

Plus I can't get a medical record since I need my prescribed addys occasionally.

They already know. You might think it’s all sweet, but they’re talking.

I was doing coke while at work (my old workplace), thinking it was all sweet. Until one of my work colleagues told me people think I’m on d****.

You don’t need that s***. You’ll get there. Been sober now almost 3 years.

Damn s*** shot my anxiety up tenfold. Except I'm not on no d**** at work tho other than adderall and that actually makes me more professional and calm. So I wonder what people are saying.

Alcohol and benzos are both gaba agonists, they affect your brain in similar ways. Quitting them both cold turkey can give you seizures and is very life threatening.

You really have to ween yourself off of it. Like the other guy said just please talk to your doctor to help you come up with a plan.

Yes you can have seizures when you take a LOT of them daily. OP is talking bout a bar/2bars.

People who take benzos are already anxious, saying this s*** like it is life threatening when you stop taking em and it is hard as f*** is making them more scared, it is counterproductive imo. I know you got good intentions by saying it but i don't think you're talking from place of experience/knowledge.

    Are you a doctor?

  • Mar 27, 2021

OP you should definitely consider talking to a doctor about it. Tapering Benzos over such a short period of time has a much larger chance of relapse. Typically, it’s best too taper over a period of a few months.

This will also make the withdrawal effects you're feeling rn be much more manageable. The alcohol withdrawal period usually only lasts a week, but when adding in benzo withdrawal with that too, it can be much longer.

Given OPs concomitant alcohol withdrawal, he is certainly still at risk for seizures and other severe withdrawal symptoms.

  • Mar 27, 2021

Yeah like every 2 weeks take that as you will
