that may be true, but the point is you can discern between a dbr song and a rodeo track. so the difference in ratings is understandable. even if dbr got an 8 and rodeo got a 3 i can udnerstand why his rating would change. Is the same true for swimming and circles?

I get op tho cuz stylistically the albums aren't that different a lot of things that he disliked about Swimming are still present here.

I gave Swimming a 6 and Circles an 8 just because the latter resonated with me more on account of the weariness and finality of it all, as well as Jon Brion's excellent arrangements.

But Swimming never deserved a 3/10. I generally am not a fan of Mac's singing and even I know that album had some effort and artistry put into it.
