Will take a while, as I need to learn the ins and outs while stacking some bread as well, while finding employment they will allow that. But been watching some vlogs and been wanting to travel for a while anyway since I went to Bangkok a few years back. Anyone here live, or lived that type of lifestyle? Do you always at some point want to go back to your native land (or wherever you are used to residing?)
haven't yet but plan to
are you trying to do the digital nomad life ? or just live outside your homeland with a new base ?
yes been an "expat" (loaded term really, just say immigrant) for over ten years
has its ups and downs

Would like to be digital nomad. Just not sure what job I could do. That's what I need to look into
did it twice, 6 months each for school. internship and a study abroad. finished that early this year. was draining but memorable. would never do it again. in one I was living with 10 people on 1 floor, miniscule appartments, people banging on the door tryna get me to join to the club and doing coke all over the place. the other I was living in a hostel, living out of a backpack. went home every weekend, wasn't too far away. essentially became a homeless person and the homeless in the city started to know me lol. got into some trouble with crazy people and people tryna rob me. all in all wasn't a smart move, but again, it was memorable and cheap. and I didn't have to rent anything
There’s a bunch of expats already in Mexico that don’t know a lick of Spanish and don’t care to. Just go there gringo
Taking my American $$ to a cheaper nation is legit my (and probably many others) retirement plan since the US is becoming unaffordable.
Ups and downs. Lonely as hell but lots of great things to do. You’re just a westerner living in gentrified area of wherever. I felt like most ex pats were gooners and degenerates type that you see them barefoot in kfc at 11am with a teenage girlfriend talking loud about crypto. I’d say go for the cultural experience 6 months to a year and then go home.

That's interesting. I'm black though lol just for the record to clarify

That's what I'm saying. Was just watching a few seconds of some dude who went to Thailand and had a highrise and was talking about how much cheaper it was. I didn't see what he did for income though. I need to finish the video. I know it's apparently cheaper other places but I also know everything comes with a catch. But I feel the same way as you now, nowhere near retirement lol, and just want a change of scenery and different energy in my environment.
fire
i was gonna say go to Thai but you were already there 😅
Yeah I'm talking like moving to one of these places. For a while at least. When I went it was simply a 7 day vacay (which btw is not enough time to fly that far lmao)
But yeah I did like it though. So you enjoyed your stay there?
tryna go to costa rica and leave this materialistic mindset america breeds in me behind
You should look into Brazil or Ghana too. Ghana has a similar cost of living to Thailand considering you’ve been there before on vacation.
Also with brazil their currency is tanking so the dollar is very strong there. It’s a little more expensive than Thailand though

Come here bro I will help you

ain’t you somewhere in Eastern Europe? That s*** too cold for me bro 🥶 I’m thinking latin America might be easiest for me. Spain would be top but they’re making it more difficult to immigrate there
@Danny is an exfat, that clown used to weigh 350!
