    It was 1982-1996 originally you're a millennial

    And 1997-2012 you're a zoomer

But now it's being proposed that if you're born from 1982-1998 you're a millennial

    And 1999-2014 you're a gen z

Even tho these date ranges don't mean much, what do u guys think?

It honestly makes sense I was born 1996, remember 9/11, graduated 2014, and the furthest I can probably relate to is someone born in 1999

    Gen z's defining things like:
    Parkland shooting
    March for our lives
    Coronavirus while in school
    Tik Tok
    Fortnite
    YouTubers like Jake paul

Are all things I was too old for / didn't define what I grew up with.

  • Mar 20, 2020

im gen z (barely) and what defined me was dragonball (z), yugioh, flip phones, merry christmas songs and lots of snow in winter season (gen z dont know that) and so on. Weird change but america is crazy

I relate more to my 26-28 cousins than I do 20 and below people

Born in 97. 95-98 kids are honestly at the crossroads of a big difference because of social media/smartphone timing.

if you're 94ish-98 you relate way more to Sandyhook/Snapchat/Facebook and insta blowup than Tik Tok/Parkland lol... you also likely don't care/never watched all the big youtubers currently out rn

    Clear difference

It actually goes even further back, 92-93 babies relate to this too.

Look up the definition Zillennial, that's what we technically are

Makes sense but either way I don’t really care. I have that “latchkey” characteristic that the Xers have but millennial is a pretty good description. That tik tok youtuber s*** is definitely corny though. I feel like a lot of the characteristics apply to rich people though like just lookup the differences between each and I never even had to chance to do some of this :

They would have only been 7 though, they wouldn't be able to grasp the importance.

Columbine is something that early / core Millennials remember

    I agree

But I'm tired of people born in like 1993 on here saying their Zoomers and people born in 2002 saying their Millennials on this site.. think this is the correct way to define it

I was 5 and remember it as well, I was in kindergarten. Actually the first day too.

I remember that day and lots of details but I didn't know what happened until I was older and understood it.
